The Bristol City Council Economic Development Team are spearheading a proactive campaign to support local high streets named Where’s It To?

Support your local traders by sharing your neighbourhood and tag @shoplocalbris for a reshare by the city’s economic development team.

Reopening High Streets Safely and Welcome Back Fund

The Reopening High Streets Safely and Welcome Back Fund to support the safe reopening of the City Centre and high streets and to create and promote a safe environment for local trade and tourism.

Vacant Commercial Property Scheme

The Vacant Commercial Property Scheme is discretionary and aims to repurpose currently empty commercial properties, and bring new types of businesses, creative and cultural activities, services, and community uses into the city’s centre and high streets.

You can apply for grants of up to £10,000 to help with costs towards:

  • improvements or modification of commercial buildings

  • building works, including replacement shop fronts

  • new equipment and shop fittings

One Front Door

One Front Door supports employers and the unemployed.

If you are unemployed they can help you find work, training and find out about the support services available in Bristol.

If you’re an employer, they can help you fill your vacancies, get support and develop a more inclusive workforce.

And for support provider organisations they can help you reach the people who need your help.

The service is free and available to everyone in the city of Bristol. Priority is given to residents who are currently unemployed.
